2022 … It's a New Year and we are
hoping for it to be better, for a return to normalcy –
to what we were used to before ...
Before the Pandemic
Before the losses
Before . . .
Sometimes we get stuck in what was lost
-
What we hoped -
Or what we wanted.
SO stuck that going forward seems almost impossible,
Almost not worth the effort.
What we hoped -
Or what we wanted.
SO stuck that going forward seems almost impossible,
Almost not worth the effort.
But … take heart!
God was not surprised by the events of 2020-2021,
And He already knows what will happen in 2022.
God was not surprised by the events of 2020-2021,
And He already knows what will happen in 2022.
Ira Stanphill wrote about it in 1950:
“I don't know about tomorrow,
I just live from day to day-
I don't borrow from its sunshine
for its skies may turn to gray.
I don't worry o'er the future
For I know what Jesus said.
And today I'll walk beside Him
for He knows what is ahead..."
I don't borrow from its sunshine
for its skies may turn to gray.
I don't worry o'er the future
For I know what Jesus said.
And today I'll walk beside Him
for He knows what is ahead..."
Can we trust Him for the future?
Is
He trustworthy?
At year end I spent some time reflecting back on 2021 and projecting ahead into 2022,
making some decisions about my personal
growth
- Spiritually
- Mentally
- Physically
- Relationally
- Socially
And, as I usually do at the start of a
new Year, I chose a focus word.
(Perhaps I'll post that in an upcoming blog.)
(Perhaps I'll post that in an upcoming blog.)
But I have hope because I choose to
view the possibilities of 2022 through the lens of
God knows!
God cares!
God is faithful!
God knows!
God cares!
God is faithful!
So, friends, what are your hopes, your
plans, your dreams for 2022?
How will you let God lead you?
How will you let God lead you?
“...Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand
But I know who holds the future,
And I know who holds my hand.”
I don't seem to understand
But I know who holds the future,
And I know who holds my hand.”
Who's holding your
hand?
Blessings,
Ruth
Blessings,
Ruth
